- Up to now, when SatstreamNet has been operating in Over The Top (OTT) mode, live
media streams have been broadcast in Multicast IP, unencrypted. This is because
in OTT mode, the network does not include the encryption engine that is included
when operating in Independent mode.
- Now, with the development of our proprietary encryption network feature, CSA-Lite,
when operating in OTT mode, live streams can be broadcast during off-peak intervals
using Multicast IP, encrypted. CSA-Lite generates a new Common Scrambling Algorithm
encryption key at the start of each new live stream broadcast.
- Although SatstreamNet operates within a closed broadcast environment and its media
transmissions are therefore not available to the general public, the addition of
CSA-Lite will provide additional security to the live media stream content thereby
providing additional reassurances to content providers.
